Yes. Recently my group, in Aveiro University (Portugal, Europe), used this channel to plan our activities on Second Life. [My english is not the best, sorry]
I think Twitter will help find those interested in ELearning / Courseware.
Probably wouldn't hurt to have a presence on Twitter. More & more people are using it.
i have to say that at present, i'm using Twitter to learn more about e-learning resources. working out pretty well, so far.
